From There to Here... and the Sequel.
It’s not a secret I had no idea what I was doing when I wrote my first book, The Hill. I was learning as I went, hoping for the best.
I look back on it with bittersweet feelings. I’m proud of the accomplishment and the story itself, but I cringe at the writing. Again, I had no idea what I was doing. Can’t stress that enough.
Now, a few years down the road, I’ve learned a lot and I’m growing more confident and, hopefully, competent, with each book.
That said, my third book is nearing completion. It’s a sequel to The Hill and as of now, has no title. I can’t tell you how excited I am. It is, by far, my best work. I’m also working on a fourth book that may be better still. And that’s all I can hope for, to keep improving with each release. I guess I could also hope for tons of sales and piles of cash, but I don’t want to get carried away.
In addition to the sequel, I’m working on a rewrite of The Hill. No need to worry, the story remains the same. I’m simply cleaning up the mistakes, making things clearer in places, and flow better in others. There may be a minor tweak to the story here and there, but it’s nothing that requires a re-read if you’ve already been through it. I truly think the improvements made so far make the story much more enjoyable.
I’m doing this solely because of the sequel. I am so proud of it and I really, really want people to read it, but to do that, they have to go through The Hill first. The Hill needs to be worthy of the sequel. Currently, it falls a bit short, but that’s changing.
The updated version, and the sequel, will launch in the next few months. I hope everyone likes it as much as I do.
Thank you for reading my books. You are the greatest.
